I know Valentino is a heavy weight in the couture world, but I don't get the appeal. What's with all the floral? The above bag is a simple tote covered in flowers. The tote below is a little better with black and white polka dot and single floral detail, but these bag usually run well over two grand and I just don't think it's worth the cost. The embroidered shoulder bag (last pic) is great. It's not overly embellished and the bow strap detail is simple and beautiful, although a bit Lanvin-esque.

I love the opulence of these Valentino stone encrusted handbags. These bags are reflective of much of the Fall 2009 handbag collections that are all about glamour and decadence, a wonderful optimism that we can appreciate.

These aren't traditional everyday bags, but the tote, Valentino Kaleido Tote $2,995, would be a great carry all for someone that likes a sparkly bag. Personally, I would use it as an everyday bag and the frame bag, Valentino Gemme Frame $2,980, would be for evening use...that is if I had a disposable income and could drop 6k on a couple of handbags. The Valentino Handbags for this upcoming fall 2009 are in two distinct styles, the heavily embellished and the very simple. I like the embellished bags, myself, the plain leather ones are just too nondescript. The idea is the simple bags are for the day and the shiny, glittery totes are for the evening.
