Lanvin Happy Metallic Python Handbag

Lanvin-Happy-Metallic-Python-Handbag

Lanvin handbags, especially their metallic python Happy bag, are among my absolute favorites out of all the spring collections. It's beautifully colored in a subtle bleed from gold to a red flap, python is among my favorite materials for a bag, and it has the signature chain strap woven with a silk bow detail and coin charm. It's a medium sized bag, as it's fairly wide and deep, it's somewhat thin. This bag is available at LUISAVIAROMA.COM, $3,422

Lanvin Handbags Spring/ Summer 2010

Lanvin Metallic python Happy fold-over handbag

Lanvin-Handbags-Spring/Summer-2010

I die. This bag...words cannot describe how much I love this bag (above). Out of all the Lanvin handbags, the Happy fold over is my favorite, but in metallic python it's even better. And not just any plain old metallic, but a subtle bleeding of all over gold into red, matching the twist lock in front. As usual, the Happy tote has the ribbon in chain strap with Lanvin coin charm and oversized bow detail.

I really like all the handbags from this collection, especially the totes, which are my go-to, everyday designs I typically carry. Totes are simply the most convenient bags for me in my hectic, daily life. The Miki fold-over is an OK bag (last pic), but it lacks the pretty, signature ribbon and bow detail that I love, and the button detail on the front is somewhat random.

Check out the fabulous Lanvin shoes from this collection.

Handbags Wish List

Although it's just November first, I'm already imagining my Christmas handbag wish list. I usually pick four or five bags and let my husband surprise me. Obviously I would choose a croc Birkin or a python Chanel, but I have to stay within a certain budget. Here are a few I'm considering, but what is going to be on your list????

This is the Lanvin Happy Sack Quilted Bag.
I have been falling in love with Lanvin handbags this year. I love the pretty ribbon and bow detail woven through the chain strap. Also, the quilted leather bag is beautiful and the color could go with almost anything. $1,960

This is the Gucci Medium Boston Bag. I know the GG embossed leather can be a bit obnoxious, but it's in all black so it's not too obvious. With the chain details, the bag has a bit of the rocker chic vibe, but not enough that it can't outlast the trend. $1,990

This is the Louis Vuitton Pailette Monogram Eclipse. Again the LV's are everywhere, but I don't care. I really like this bag. Lil' more expensive though, $2,470.

Lanvin Spring/Summer 2010 handbags

Lanvin-Spring/Summer-2010-handbags

Lanvin's designer, Alber Elbaz, continues his successful formula in handbag designs with lots of layers and ribbon and chain detail. The chain shoulder straps with interlacing ribbons are becoming a signature Lanvin style as it continues into the Spring/Summer handbag collections. This time, however, the straps are covered with thin fabric that accentuate the interlaced ribbons and sometimes bow detail. There were some bags with no fabric detail, and yet were distinctly Lanvin with drapey, jewelry detail. In the world of designer handbags, Lanvin, with the help of Alber Elbaz, is a rising star.

Paris Fashion Week 2009, Lanvin

An appropriate analogy for the Spring 2009 season was the safe-to-wild ratio from Alber Elbaz for Lanvin, which helped close Paris Fashion Week and settle the debate on whether to be, to put it plainly, 'conservative' or 'fun' in our economic climate. The fun factor really came out with some of the shoes in this collection. He was a little more conservative with his handbag collection. The bags had conservative shapes, from the square clutch to the square shoulder bag, but he got a little fun with his color choices. The bright green and pink were not only beautiful, but uplifting. My only problem is that he used mostly exotics in his handbag collection, so these bags are going to be costly at a time when a lot of us don't have extra cash.
