I really like Kate Spade handbags for their simple, conservative style as well as relatively inexpensive, yet quality designs. This is her Poppy Fields tote, named for the quilted poppy pattern on the outside of the bag and for the red and black poppy print lining. The bag is nylon and features a Kate Spade plaque on the front and gold tone hardware and chain strap. It comes in red, black and purple. $325 at Endless.com.

While I haven't always been a huge fan of Kate Spade handbags (they're just not my style), I really like this fringed tote. It is the 'Yuma - Ida' shopper bag. I love the bold colors to add a splash of color to your look, but even the brown one would be a stylish everyday bag. It's four tiers of fringed leather and has protective metal feet. This bag is pretty structured, so it will stand up when you put it down, rather than folding over. Kate's bags are good quality and rather inexpensive, a good thing in today's climate. This is the Kate Spade Tamarind Cove Kyle handbag and I think it has a lovely, summery look. It comes in the three colors shown below, and all three have braided gold leather down the sides and bottom of the bag, with matching gold leather strap and logo plate. I love the vibrant green color of this Kate Spade tote. This is her Highland Park Quinn handbag, and it's one of my favorite from her designs. The tote is always the most convenient and comfortable to carry, in my humble opinion. I always have ten things in my hand and I need easy entry into my bag, no flaps or zippers impeding my way. And the tote is deep enough so nothing will fall out, but still hold all my essentials, as well as diapers, bottles and other kids stuff ( I don't like diaper bags! ). Kate Spade designs are a bit conservative, and look fabulous with a business suit, but this bright tote is a great every day carry all. Available at zappos.com $399.
