That's A Fabulous Handbag

As some of you may know, my latest handbag acquisition was a Chloé, so I'm a bit partial to them at the moment, however, even if I wasn't partial, I would still absolutely LOVE this Chloé handbag! When I first saw the picture I thought it was a small, evening bag, but as you can see from the picture with the model, it's a mid sized shoulder bag, the perfect size for everyday use. This thrilled me because I love the bag, but I simply can't put down the serious bucks for something I can only use occasionally. It's an eye catching, embellished bag, but the neutral, eggshell colored leather allow it to look great with denim or a dress. Apparently, my high opinion of this bag isn't alone, it's sold out at Net a Porter, but should be re-stocked soon. $3,900.

I am steadily becoming a Chloé handbag enthusiast. This crocodile embossed lurex bag is in the box shape with chain straps design that is so very popular for the upcoming fall and winter seasons. Pucci has a denim version that is being touted as the "it" bag of the season, but, really... a denim "it" bag? I'll pass on that and take this fab little Chloé instead. This bag has gold-tone twisted rope handles which can be alternatively styled as a long shoulder strap, a turn-lock fastening at front with logo plaque, and beautifully contrasting peach leather lining. $1,250 at Net a Porter .

This has to be one of the prettiest Chloé handbags I have ever seen. The python scales are the perfect size and nicely uniform. The material looks especially beautiful in dusty pink and set against the black leather bow. The crystal bow is just the right amount of bling to keep this sophisticated yet super chic. I love that this bag doesn't fall into an age bracket. I could see an elegant older woman wearing it with a silk suit or a pretty young lady carrying it into a club.

The envelope flap fastens with magnetic snap closure, and it has nude leather lining with a small interior pocket. It measures Width 32cm Height 20cm Depth 2cm. Available at Browns, $1,824 or £1,075

If you read my last post, you know I was upset I had let a sale priced, python Chloe Paddington handbag get snatched up by another buyer before I made a decision. Exotics hardly ever go on sale, let alone a Chloe Paddington exotic. Well, I got a call yesterday...the bag was returned. I immediatly gave them my credit card # and set out to pick it up. Today it is in my arms. Mine. My first exotic. I'm thrilled.

The Chloe Paddington hit the designer handbag scene in 2005 and it quickly became on of the hottest designs to date. The frenzy to attain one has cooled somewhat, but now they have settled into the category of 'classic'. If you have one and keep it in good shape, it will never go out of style.

Highlights of my beauty:

Overall shot of the bag. The inner panel is flat, black python, the outer panels have a sheen overcoat. The handles and lining are leather. *sigh* Isn't she a beaut.

This gorgeous Chloe handbag is ink blue python skin with a gold chain handle. I love the unusual shape of this clutch handbag. It is the Chloe 'Joyce' Shoulder Clutch.  The bag is hinged, somewhat like a coin purse, and opens into two compartments which are framed in gold metal and lined in beautifully contrasting peach leather. The python skin is absolutely gorgeous as you can see in the close up image above. If you are ever get the chance, compare a real snakeskin handbag to an embossed snakeskin leather handbag and it will really show you just how beautiful the real thing is.
