That's A Fabulous Handbag

I will be the first to admit it takes quite a bit to give me sticker shock since I talk about 2k and up designer handbags and designer shoes daily. I can also admit this is an amazing jacket. It's practically the entire animal draped over your body, however it's not real crocodile, it's embossed leather. I could hire a hunter to go kill and skin a crocodile AND get a talented designer to make this jacket out of real croc for me at the Balmain asking price of $74,000.

I knew the label had an inflated ego when their Balmain handbags came out and the designs were nothing special, yet the prices rivaled those of Chanels. But this is ridiculous. If you have 75k laying around and like this jacket, you can pick it up at LUISAVIAROMA.COM.

The Balmain handbags have arrived and I'm not sold on them. The first thing that is of note is that every bag is in the messenger style design. I cannot stand messenger bags. Not only are they a boring square shape they are crossbody bags (hideous on busty women) they are terribly inconvenient. You have to lift a flap and hold open while you rummage through the thing to find what you need. While I'm sure the bags workmanship is stellar, the prices are way to high for standard materials like suede and leather, with or without the stud details. The Leo embellished shoulder bag above retails for $2,920. The quilted leather bag is the least expensive of the group at $1,915, not exactly cheap. The white leather bag with tassels is $2,315 and the multi colored stud bag is a ridiculous $3,925. Now I knew the Balmain bags would expensive, but almost 4 grand for a bag that not an exotic or an Hermes Bikini...c'mon. Even Chanel isn't so presumptuous.
