The latest Louis Vuitton handbags are somewhat unusual to say the least. While a few designs from the Spring and Summer 2010 collection are fabulous, some are hideous. This bag falls somewhere in the middle for me. While the luxurious cream and lime colored leather are beautiful, and the tassel and bead details are fabulous, the shape of the bag is totally out of proportion and inconvenient. I'm sure this was done on purpose, unconventional chic perhaps? It's so deep there is no way you could carry small items, like, oh ANY daily necessities - phone, wallet, ipod, keys - without it being a total pain in the butt trying to retrieve them. So that leaves its' use as an overnight bag or a gym bag, which is perfectly fabulous in my opinion, however at 4K, that's going to be a tough sell.

There's a reason Coach handbags are the number one selling handbag brand in the industry. They constantly design pretty and stylish handbags at affordable prices. I absolutely adore the new totes, especially the pink sequined one above ($398). The other totes sport heart details, so I thought they would be great to feature for Valentine's day. You're looking at what Style.com is calling the 'it' bag for the upcoming Spring and Summer 2010, a Proenza Schouler Mini Sac. I totally get the pick, it's a fabulous, hipster chic bag and it's not terribly expensive. It's hard to tell in the picture, but the metal chain strap has been heat treated so it's multi colored. The bag itself is red and purple print leather with a logo patch on the front. It has a removable wrist strap. Available at LUISAVIAROMA.COM, $1,370.

 Jean Paul Gaultier said he was inspired by "Mexico" for his couture 2010 collection, which is a fairly broad description, but clearly it was the Mexican rain forest that inspired his handbags. The clutches look like various leaves that are so plentiful in that region of the world, and the result is a unique and very beautiful design. The overall collection didn't go over too well in the couture community, but I think he got it right with the bags.
