So simple and understated, yet so beautiful. Like a beautiful pair of nude pumps, I’m a sucker for a clean lined, nude handbag. This large north-to-south south tote is not only lovely to look at, it’s functional, and although I love great embellishments, you wouldn’t want exciting details on this tote – the appeal is in the clean, sleek shape. Versace is anything but subtle, and can sometimes border on tacky, but this season Spring 2012 Donatello Versace designed a beautiful collection, from the ready-to-wear to the accessories. The color palette is also softer than the usual, ultra bright, often neon shades. This studded handbag is from the Spring 2012 collection and is a pale violet, representing the light pastels used in this seasons designs. The bag is quilted and embroidered with seahorses, a take on the ocean life theme of the collection.

Quilted violet leather with all over gold stud details, this designer handbag is a beautiful Spring accessory. It has dual, rolled handles, and a detachable shoulder strap. The Fendi handbags for Spring 2012 is another fabulous collection coming out next season. For the Fall 2011 collection, Fendi stayed conservative, designing classic style bags in traditional colors. I liked the Fall collection for everyday wear, but the spring bags are more fun and youthful. The colors and materials are traditional warm weather wear, making them more seasonal and not year-round carry-alls. The Fendi Peek-a-Boo is back, as well as the Sylvania satchel. My favorite bags from the season are the newly designed totes with inner drawstring bag. The bag in a bag has been done before, but Fendi’s take on the design gives them a modern twist for unforgettable bag. These are the kinds of bags that make you look forward to the weather changing. When it comes to designer handbags, I’m not a singular brand kind of girl. Almost every season I get a bag from a label that I haven’t bought in a few years, however for the past few seasons I keep coming back to Dolce & Gabbana. The Spring 2012 bags are absolutely amazing, and not just a few of them, the entire collection is fabulous. This season the fashion duo made a smaller version of the popular Miss Sicily. The smaller version is more of an evening bag in size, but it has the handy top strap like the regular sized Miss Sicily. Some of the mini Sicily have an attached coin purse (above). Dolce & Gabbana also brought back Miss Charles, but for the warm season it is done in woven patent leather made to look like a basket and crochet raffia in pretty floral design. While I love the entire collection I’m picking my favorite to be the basket weave totes, the style reminds me of a picnic basket, and to me that is the essence of Spring and Summer. I’ve never heard of Dax Gabler, but he designed a handbag collection for Spring 2012 that’s pretty amazing. It’s unlike any other handbags out today, but his bags are more than just different, they’re fun, fresh and youthful. His bags have incredible texture and dimension, and while they may not be for everyone, they will be must-haves for many.
